NTOU faculty, staff and students can use university ID card or library borrower’s card to borrow books from the library.

If a book is reserved by another user upon checking out, the loan period will be shortened to 14 days. However loan period will not be changed if the book is reserved by another user after it has been checked out. Reference materials, periodicals and newspapers are limited for use in the library.
Borrowers may check in and return the materials at the circulation desk, or drop your books(except A-V materials, Periodicals) in the return box located at the main entrance of the library. If books dropped in the return box, the return date will be the next working day.
Borrowers can renew their books 5 days prior to the due date via online renewal. Please note that renewal will not be completed in the following conditions:
A.Item(s) in your record is/are overdue;
B.Item is on hold (reserved by another user);
C.Renewal the same item for twice;
D.User's borrowing privilege is locked temporarily for unpaid fines;
E.Too soon to renew (renewal are only accepted during 5 days prior to due date).
Please return all checked out items on or before the due date. If a book is not returned by the due date, it is considered overdue and is subject to overdue fines. Late return of books will be charged NT$5 overdue fines for each item per day.
The fines will by cumulated until the late item returned to library. Users with late returned books or unpaid fines cannot check out, renew or request any book.
Users will be responsible for loss or damage to any book in their records. If any item is lost, you must inform the library before the due date.
If items are damaged or lost, you will be required to pay the double value of replacement or buy a new copy of the item for the library.
If the item is also overdue, there will be charged overdue fees, too.
