- Virtual reality experience area has been made available for NTOU faculty, staff and students to make know the ocean, understand the ocean and experience the environment of the ocean, and the regulations are established to control the use of virtual reality (VR) experience area.
- Eligibility:
Eligible users mentioned in the Regulations shall refer only to NTOU faculty, staff and students.
- Application Criteria:
- Number of Users: A request can be raised by at least 1 or more people, and subject to a maximum of 3 people.
- Application Procedures: Users can fill in in an online reservation form through My Lib System on the Office of Library and Information Technology (OLIT) website, and will use the area after the application is approved. A staff or student identity card needs to be presented upon arrival, borrow the VR equipment (computer, helmet and handlebar) and shall be temporarily withheld while the area are occupied.

- Availability:
- VR experience area is available 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Friday; national holidays and school holidays are closed.
- OLIT may announce the change of the area availability time in advance under special circumstances.
- Duration of Use: Use is subject to a maximum of 2 hours per session, cannot be renewed.
- Return of Area: After using the area, users are required to tidy up the area, turn off electronic devices and inform the Serials Office to check the area facilities. The staff/student identity card will be returned after the library staff confirms that no facilities are damaged.

- Users should use the area arranged by OLIT; users are neither allowed to exchange the area with others nor allowed to transfer the area to others.
- The area is only for experiencing the VR collection provided by NTOU library. Users shall be solely responsible for any legal consequences due to violations against the Copyright Act.
- Users are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and serenity of the used area; Users are not allowed to bring food, make excessive noise, or use the area for other inappropriate or unrelated activities. OLIT may immediately cancel the area upon discovering any violation, and may suspend the violator from further use of the area for one month.
- Users are not allowed to bring other library equipment into the area without permission.
- Users shall be liable for any damages caused to the facility due to improper use.
- Notes on Online Reservation:
- The applicant must provide the names on staff/student identity cards of all users. The applicant may be denied use of the reserved area upon arrival if user details do not match the ones previously registered. The applicant may also be denied use of the reserved area if the actual number of users does not conform to the requirements.
- Once a reservation has been approved, the applicant should approach the Serials Office located on the third floor of the library within 10 minutes after the reserved session begins. Failure to show up within 10 minutes would be considered a waiver of the reserved session and counted as a "No Show." Applicants who accumulate two "No Shows" will be suspended from further use of the area for one month.
- To cancel a reservation, please go to the My Lib System and cancel the reservation in advance. Those who complete the cancellation registration according to the regulations will be exempt from being marked as "No Show".
- While the area is in use, OLIT staff may enter the area to perform inspections and maintenance; users cannot refuse.
- If necessary, OLIT may recall the borrowed area before the session ends.
- Any matters not provided in the Regulations shall be governed by NTOU regulations.
- The Regulations shall take effect upon the announcement of the NTOU Library and Information Technology Committee.
